40 Days to Glory: A Letter to the Warrior Preparing for UPSC Prelims 2025
40 Days to Glory: A Letter to the Warrior Preparing for UPSC Prelims 2025
Dear Aspirant,
Imagine this.
You are standing at the base of a mighty mountain — one that thousands dream of climbing, but only a few dare to try. You’ve come a long way already. The storms, the detours, the steep climbs — you’ve faced them all with grit. Now, just 40 days remain before you reach the summit.
The mountain is called UPSC Prelims 2025 — and it awaits you on 25th May.
These final 40 days are not about how much you study, but how you finish the climb. This is your final sprint, your moment of transformation, and you’re not alone. Let’s walk this last mile together.
Chapter 1: Focus Like Arjuna
Remember Arjuna from the Mahabharata? When asked what he saw while aiming at the bird’s eye, he said: “Only the eye.” That’s the kind of laser-sharp focus you need now.
Don’t get distracted by what others are reading, how many mocks someone else has taken, or how prepared your friend feels. Your journey is your own, and your strength lies in what YOU have built so far.
In these 40 days:
- Revise your strong zones first – Polity, History, Economy, Geography.
- Current Affairs – Focus on schemes, reports, international groupings, and events from the past 12–15 months.
- Use short notes, PYQs, and mind maps to recall faster.
Chapter 2: Test Thyself Like a Warrior
No warrior goes to battle without sharpening his sword. Your sword? Mock tests.
Mocks are not just about marks — they are your training ground. Your confidence grows when you fail and learn. Your accuracy builds when you understand your mistakes.

Your training schedule:
- 1-2 GS mocks per week.
- 1–2 CSAT mocks weekly (don’t neglect this!).
- After each test, review your mistakes like clues, and solve the puzzle again.
Chapter 3: The Hidden Beast – CSAT
In many battles, it’s the enemy you ignore that catches you off guard.
CSAT is that beast. It looks tame but can ruin your plans if you’re not ready.
Tame it with:
- Daily practice – comprehension, reasoning, math basics.
- Solving previous years’ CSAT papers.
- Timing yourself like you would on the real day.
Chapter 4: Mind Over Matter
You’re human. Anxiety will knock, doubts will creep in. But here’s the truth: every topper you’ve heard of felt this way too. They just didn’t stop.
Take care of the machine — your mind and body.
- 7–8 hours of sleep.
- Light, nourishing meals.
- Daily movement — walk, stretch, breathe.
- Say NO to toxic WhatsApp groups or Twitter drama.
Believe one thing: You are enough for this exam. Right now. As you are.
Chapter 5: Into the Final Lap
In the last 10–12 days, start living in the exam mode.
- Wake up as per exam day routine.
- Practice in 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM slots.
- Pack your essentials, check your admit card details.
- Visualize your exam day calmly — walking in, solving with confidence, walking out with peace.
The Last Word: You’re Almost There
Somewhere out there, a version of you — a future officer — is waiting. Waiting for this version of you to not give up now.
You’ve already walked miles. What remains is not a test of knowledge, but a test of character, consistency, and belief.
So tighten your shoes. Steady your mind. Look at that summit again.
40 days to go.
40 chances to rise.
40 chapters in your story of success.
And what a story it will be.
With you till the finish line,
Team DimensionIAS
